Väo combined heat and power plant auxiliary transformer supply, installation and configuration. The project included complete documentation and grid connection compliance.
The Väo cogeneration plant produces both heat and electricity, which is transmitted to Tallinn's district heating network and the power grid. During the project, we supplied and installed an ABB 3 MVA medium transformer that provides the plant's own consumption needs — ventilation, pump systems, control electronics and safety systems.
A particularly demanding point was ensuring the transformer's starting transient below 5% of the rated value, which required precise calculation and overload protection configuration. Together with the electrical construction, we performed the corresponding tests, measurements and prepared the necessary as-built documentation.
During commissioning, all measurements remained within tolerances and the plant was smoothly put into operation.
