Connecting the park to the grid required a powerful power transformer capable of withstanding the rapid load fluctuations characteristic of wind energy.<\/p>\n<p>We supplied a Siemens 16 MVA transformer with voltage levels 115\/21 kV and installed it on a special concrete foundation that isolates vibration. The most complex part of the project was configuring the OLTC (on-load tap changer) \u2014 the automatic voltage controller ensures that despite variable wind production, the transmission voltage remains within Elering's required \u00b15% tolerance.<\/p>\n<p>The entire installation passed Elering's official inspection procedure and received grid connection approval.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Supply and installation of a 16 MVA power transformer for a wind farm on the Virtsu coast.
