Riisipere 16 MVA 110 kV power transformers (2 pcs)
Riisipere substation, Harjumaa, Estonia

At Riisipere substation in Harjumaa, two 16 MVA power transformers were installed in the 110 kV system, providing reliable supply security for rural areas with lower load density. The project represents a typical modernization of a regional substation.

The Harjumaa Riisipere area power grid serves dispersed residential areas and small producers, making substation reliability critically important. Two 16 MVA transformers provide a redundant configuration where during maintenance of one unit, the other can carry the entire load. This solution complies with supply security requirements for regional 110 kV substations.

The project included both dismantling of the old equipment fleet and complete installation of new transformers along with protection and automation system upgrades. Limited site area required precise crane operation planning. After successful commissioning, the substation was handed over with an upgraded level of supply security.
